Your chance to get your writing seen by experts

To support Patrick Ness’s incredible fundraiser for Save the Children in aid of the Syria refugee crisis, three world-renowned UK children’s book editors are offering to cast their expert eye over your work in progress.

Want to get your plot-holes plugged by Philip Pullman’s editor, David Fickling? Have your characterization critiqued by Artemis Fowl editor, Sarah Hughes? Or your action scenes analyzed by Barry Cunningham, who discovered a little-known scribbler known as J.K. Rowling? Here’s what you have to do . . .

Go to Patrick’s fundraising page http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/PatrickNess between now and midnight (GMT) on Friday 11 September and donate £5 or more. Then come back here and enter your name, email address and amount donated in the boxes below. Each £5 gets you one raffle ticket.

Three winners will be selected at random and invited to submit the first 50 pages plus synopsis of a middle grade or young adult fiction manuscript for detailed written feedback from one of these legendary editors, who between them boast more bestsellers than you can shake a stick at.

Good luck, happy giving, and please spread the word!

Update: 9th September

Two US publishing titans have kindly offered to join the raffle – Ken Wright, publisher of Gayle Forman, and Julie Strauss-Gabel, who edits some guy called John Green…

So that means there will now be FIVE lucky winners walking away with expert manuscript critiques when the raffle ends on Friday at midnight (GMT). Don’t miss out on your chance for one of these money-can’t-buy prizes.

Good luck!

Please note that the organisers and editors are participating as private individuals, not as the representatives of any publishing companies, and that critiques are no guarantee of future publishing contracts.
